Learn tools and tips to enhance your dance teaching! This 3-hour workshop will focus on class planning that utilizes backwards design and a concept-based approach. We will examine strategies for breaking down complex movements into basic fundamentals that can be adapted for each class level. This methodology for teaching can be applied to all dance styles, ages, and markets from dance studios, to after school programs, to senior centers, and higher education. 

Meghan is a Professor of Dance at Salem State University and has been teaching Dance Pedagogy for over 20 years. She brings a wealth of experience teaching dance in university settings, private studios, public schools, and community classes. 

Choreography Workshop: From Spark to Sparkle - Translating Ideas Into Dance

Are you a choreographer who is interested in exploring tools to bring your artistic vision to the stage? This 3-hour workshop will cover methods for translating your ideas into movement, developing a simple phrase into a full-length piece, and using the space to support your concept. With over 20 years of experience and 100+ choreographed dances, Meghan and Kristen share some of their most valued methods.
